I’m frustrated on how I haven’t taken a good picture for nearly a year now.

Realization that I’ve been drinking quite heavily again in the past weeks. Need to cutback because I haven’t gone through a dry-dry period in a long while. Those days felt good. Though I have to ask myself why I always go through these cycles of ‘drink a lot’ then ‘not at all.’ Me thinks this is an indication that I should just stop drinking altogether and not look back.

WARNING: OFFENSIVE ENTRY AHEAD

I just found it worth mentioning that today in my strategic management class we all came to an automatic consensus on the demographic description for Myspace users.

I remember the days when Myspace was the ‘in’ thing back in high school. I was a moderately late adopter to it, actually, but as I moved onto college I found a new love for Facebook. Many chose to not adopt, while many more decided to abandon their old accounts and totally embrace it. I can attribute this to a skepticism toward change or a striving to belong in the group of ‘non-conformists.’ At any rate, Myspace came under attack from trashier and grungier characters and the brand perception for it went downhill. EXPONENTIALLY. As a result, most characterize all current Myspacers as uneducated, low-brow, and -essentially- a tool to keep in touch with those who haven’t graduated from high school. As a matter of fact, I’ve found peers to go out of their way to avoid it. From a technological standpoint, it seems like Myspace is more virus-ridden any way. These terms and notions came out almost immediately from everyone in the peanut gallery, and it was the first time in a long time that everyone found something to agree about even if it was on such negative terms.

I found it extremely amusing and worth noting for the long run. My personal feelings are that Myspace has run its course, much like Xanga. They’ve already tarnished their brand reputation to an irreversible point, and nothing associated with the name ‘Myspace’ will be salvageable in turn. I feel if you are still a lingerer on Myspace and believe that you do not fit into this aforementioned typecast, perhaps it’s time to make a change. Either that or continue in hopes of proving me wrong.
