Fun jackets

Thin, shiny. Paired w/ other shit when going out at night. Homage to the 80’s.
I am tempted to just get one and play around with it. But not until JULY 19

…my self-instated restriction from buying clothes online.

Right Decisions

I just denied my interview with Allied. I hope I’ve made the right decision, but then again, life isn’t about living in regret. It’s about seizing the opportunities you experience in the moment. Thus, I am going to the kick ass at TD Wang.

A good conundrum

I interviewed with TD Wang today and was hired on the spot. Pretty amazing after all this time, but then the gods of irony mock me again. As I wait to sign my contract, I get all these interview requests from all the inquires I sent out throughout the past months.

I was offered a position to teach in Taiwan – rejected it
I was offered an interview with Propel PR & Productions – rejected it
I was offered an interview with Allied Integrated Marketingpending

I am stuck in a serious conundrum. Should I even choose to interview with Allied? TD Wang was just so rushed and all of a sudden that I am a bit in shock. I do not want to hastily commit to something without a lot of contemplation, but then again, I am very grateful for the opportunity and humbled by their appreciation for my experience.

There are definitely pros and cons for both agencies. I suppose listing them out would help frame my thoughts:

Allied Integrated Marketing

  • Big, recognized company
  • Entertainment industry
  • Potential to move to LA or San Fran
  • Out in the field action
  • Pay per event structure
  • Few hours and flexible schedule
  • Vu Tran? Do I care?
TD Wang

  • Fast, guaranteed position growth
  • Small, very tangible tasks for resume
  • Group of friends
  • Asian-oriented so very familiar
  • Lots of strategic implementation
  • Small stipend
  • Victoria Wong. Care a lot more

I am still stuck, but making that chart did help formulate my thoughts. I think I am ready to make a decision, but I should sleep on it a night first to see what else develops. In the end, I should not regret my decision. I know that life is full of choices, and you can’t always make the right one all the time. I’m not clairvoyant or anything. Rather, live every day without regret and trust in the people around you. Burning bridges won’t lead you anywhere, so consider that when arriving at a final decision.

Apologies

I’ve been a jerk lately. To parents, to friends, to co-workers, it seems like I’m burning bridges in sacrifice of furthering myself. To live a life behind is better spent than ruining those who helped you get there. I have to turn myself around and work to fix this.

Begin posting some looks

Zipia look of the day. Maybe this won’t work for me.

But the inspiration is there nonetheless.

Realization — harder than I thought

Writing for a living is a lot harder than I imagined. I think it is completely essential to start reading, reading, and reading every day to keep up and build both my vocabulary and creativity. Geez.

Writing everyday in this vehicle wouldn’t hurt either. I’ll include a sample press release I’ve written later when I actually write a fabulous one haha. So far, they have gone through rigorous edits, and are not up to par.

Inspiration for the red carpet

…for when I’m ever on the red carpet hah. Got inspired to look up some looks from Dunhill’s Fall 2010 collection after seeing pictures from a ‘Red Carpet’ themed semi-formal at UNR. Thanks, Charleston.

Again

I think it’s time…to start P90x again…
the problem is that I don’t have enough hours in a day.

Pet peeves

Every day I am challenged at Brandsoul, my internship. I am constantly learning, which is a good thing. This is seriously, the first job I have ever had that required me to actually use my brain. I am very amazed! And shocked! Life gets no easier after college, let me tell you.

Aside from that, I just looked back over a cover letter that my friend had edited for me. He said it was fine and printed it out. I foolishly believed him. After looking over it again today out of curiosity, I found it filled with typos in the most obvious places. What the FFFF?! This was supposed to go to my #1 choice in internship right now – that he incidentally works for. Life was not designed to be fair. It was designed to be cut throat and vicious. At least that is what American society dictates it should be. That is why we are so successful. Though with this whole escapade, I am left so disappointed and aggravated that this had to happen. No wonder I have not heard back from them even though it is their busy season and my resume kicks serious ass.

Alas, one good thing did come from this discovery. I can now add ‘typos’ to one of my major pet peeves in life.
