A good conundrum

I interviewed with TD Wang today and was hired on the spot. Pretty amazing after all this time, but then the gods of irony mock me again. As I wait to sign my contract, I get all these interview requests from all the inquires I sent out throughout the past months.

I was offered a position to teach in Taiwan – rejected it
I was offered an interview with Propel PR & Productions – rejected it
I was offered an interview with Allied Integrated Marketingpending

I am stuck in a serious conundrum. Should I even choose to interview with Allied? TD Wang was just so rushed and all of a sudden that I am a bit in shock. I do not want to hastily commit to something without a lot of contemplation, but then again, I am very grateful for the opportunity and humbled by their appreciation for my experience.

There are definitely pros and cons for both agencies. I suppose listing them out would help frame my thoughts:

Allied Integrated Marketing

  • Big, recognized company
  • Entertainment industry
  • Potential to move to LA or San Fran
  • Out in the field action
  • Pay per event structure
  • Few hours and flexible schedule
  • Vu Tran? Do I care?
TD Wang

  • Fast, guaranteed position growth
  • Small, very tangible tasks for resume
  • Group of friends
  • Asian-oriented so very familiar
  • Lots of strategic implementation
  • Small stipend
  • Victoria Wong. Care a lot more

I am still stuck, but making that chart did help formulate my thoughts. I think I am ready to make a decision, but I should sleep on it a night first to see what else develops. In the end, I should not regret my decision. I know that life is full of choices, and you can’t always make the right one all the time. I’m not clairvoyant or anything. Rather, live every day without regret and trust in the people around you. Burning bridges won’t lead you anywhere, so consider that when arriving at a final decision.
