Fall Inspiration

Fall is around the corner. Time to start dressing a bit more…dapper.
Dear gods, is that the snooty new word now?

Impossibly Hopeless

I can’t believe how much lack of interest there is for this event I’m promoting. It’s literally like pulling teeth, wanting people to give the slightest care for this career fair our client is putting on.

Seriously, spammed all the metrics I could and got it out to all these different outlets. But at the end of the day, if people don’t care about something – I can’t force them to just show up. This is so difficult.

I’ll call it now because I’m a realist: Failure is a part of life, and just because the ball gets dropped once in a while doesn’t spell the end of the world. We have the Mayans for that.

Airports

I’m sitting at the airport and returning home for the first time in a year. Even though I don’t expect much of an exciting time in Vegas, the whole experience of getting there has been an enjoyable one (thus far).

I never realized how much I missed these places until today. I used to be a seasoned traveler, racing from terminal to terminal across the globe. Then senior year happened and then job hunting happened. Ergo, traveling became only a fragrant memory. I didn’t even have time or initiative to visit home for the holidays.

Though coming here today, using the LightRail, roughing it on my own and getting lost in new places, trying to meet physical deadlines with a racing heart — all of these situations makes me feel alive again.

I had forgotten how many eclectic people there are in this world. It’s amazing how many people culminate without segregation in these airports. On the train ride here, I watched a tourist family from Kentucky talk about their hometown in their country accents. I just watched them from across my seat, mesmerized by something so simple.

I miss meeting new people. You can only be complacent with like-minded individuals for so long. Even at this very moment, I’m people watching and loving every moment of it. Different faces, different verbal expressions. There’s so many diverse backgrounds in life but also so little time or possibility of getting to know them all. I’m not saying Seattle is that small, although people lingering in the same geographic region tend to think alike. It’s very refreshing to see such …change.

Phew! I’ve gotten very peppy writing this entry – probably a direct result of me about to board a plane to Vegas: where people tend to culminate from around the world. But even in this airport, to just be in this environment again, I’ve recharged my appreciation for traveling.

Overall, the main lesson learned from today: next year, travel more with no excuses. This is what will make you happy, reliving the elation you feel in this very moment once again.

Where are they?

I’m frustrated again because I just can’t meet any good-hearted people.

Social Mediiiias!

First Xanga < Livejournal < WordPress Tumblr
This is a trend I shall NOT conform to. But then again, what kind of marketer would I be?

Reminder to Self About Others

Just because you speak with confidence does not necessarily mean you are correct.

I’ve met a lot of people like this in my life. They talk the talk, but when it comes to getting things done, they fall flat on their face. When it comes to being correct and astute with their observations, they just don’t have a talented eye.

How annoying. I really hope I can transcend these bozos soon and shove their words right back at them.

Hikes!

Went on a hike to near the top of Mt. Baker. Unfortunately it was still winter in early July…

思念

我安静在闹区等来电铃声
有一些话打好了却不敢传
怕收到讯息的你在为难
街道上人潮衬托我的孤单
想象 谁幸运的陪在你身旁
….
却误会一场
你也在等你手机响

Aaah. So old, so classic.

Exciting Nonetheless

I won’t be around for the completion of this system (+delays) in 2016, but I am really excited to see how this new transit system for turn out for Seattle. It’s time we start catching up with bigger cities and start making things more convenient for the daily commuter. I won’t have to move Downtown to work easily without a car. Double-edged sword: hopefully I won’t be around to have to worry about those types of things any way.

Bored again

Took a long hiatus from going out, but then returned for a four-day stint, leaving me tired and wanting a big break again. It seems like everything is really mundane again. I wish I had more adventures.

Also not helping is an emptied out U.District. On the other hand, it’s refreshing to live student-free for a while.
