Urgh. I think I really outdid myself this quarter:
All weedout, business prereq classes. It’s half way through the quarter (somehow) and I’m feeling the ultimate pressure of quizzes, papers, and midterms all piling up on me. Most of the classes involve numbers, which I hate, and maybe that’s why I am getting this sense of hopelessness. I try to remind myself to step back to take a breath of fresh air in hopes that realizing the big picture will help me calm down. After all, I’m pretty sure people out there have equally as time consuming if not more ridiculous schedules than I.

I have to study this weekend.
What bitter luck is that!

No, Intro to Law you are NOT doing us a favor by having the midterm a day before Halloween. Why not have it the Friday prior instead. That would have been better. Ah well…

I’m so swamped, bewildered. I have so many goals to accomplish this year yet I ask myslef, “How do I even get started?” Business school, studying abroad, and all those extra curricular stuffs. Are these things even possible at this point? The school year just started and perhaps this foreboding is only a side-effect of the fall quarter blues, but all seems really hopeless at this point. I am getting ultra spanked in my prereqs and it’s already half way through the quarter (somehow). Last year, I never thought I’d study so much in college. This year, I never believed that I’d continue to study so much. Bah.

Bah to that I say!

Ah well
…happy 25-30 or so more weeks of school.

In one night the world just got more complicated.

Tis profound when you realize that such ‘life changers’ can occur.

What a rollercoaster summer!
By far, this one seemed to have past the quickest.

01. Attempting to sell books got me to see America. Although I quit, I don’t regret it. Trying was enough for me and it was an invaluable experience.
02. Coming home to Las Vegas for a month. I realized that things aren’t the same as last summers. What was once all about the party-party lifestyle has kinda died down. Am I growing up? I hope so. I noticed a lot of kids stayed at their respective colleges for this summer and I can understand why. Once again: home is a great place to visit. Being able to leave for school, work, and leisure for such long periods has got me more comfortable in my own skin. I think in a way, that has cleared some barriers, inhabitions, or fears that had once held me back.
03. Travelling throughout Asia was the highlight of my summer. Each society was so different, yet by observing them all I noticed similarities within my own family. That was enlightening. This was one of the ultimate social epiphanies in my life definitely!

Japan was trendy, clean, organized, futuristic, and secure. All the kids were ultra hip yet not snobby or mean. Everyone I met was willing to help although they didn’t even speak my language. I also got a chance to improve my Japanese…although I still stink. But lastly, each person just had an inherent desire NOT to litter. If only Americans could develop that same mindset…

Thailand was nice. It wasn’t exactly how I imagined however. I remember visiting there when I was really young and things just seemed completely different this time around. It’s because I notice and appreciate different things now. The highlight of Thailand was meeting family and shopping-shopping-shopping-shopping. I also improved my Thai…just a little.

China was my favorite. The people in my tour were fantastic. We all bonded in our tight-knit group, creating inside jokes and stories. They were great personalities from all over the world, sharing the common bond of the Thai language. Fun. But China itself was also great. I like seeing ancient places, it makes me think about my own past (ancestor wise). Somewhere in China’s vast region, my family is probably still chillin’ somewhere. How exciting! But also being able to compare communist/capitalist societies was also eye opening.

Ah well…I think my English degraded a level due to my lack of transitions and stuff above. Haha. No matter. Overall, this is a summer that I will never forget. By doing this I definitely want to become a world traveller some day!!

Next year..I HOPE DESIRE AND SET MY GOALS FOR..
studying at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea
for next year’s summer quarter!
